At Musgrave MarketPlace we’re proud to be the only 100% Irish owned national foodservice wholesaler. Over 140 years ago the Musgrave family set out values to guide their business and six generations later these values are still at the core of who we are. We believe in building long term stable relationships, not being greedy, honesty, working hard and achievement. And because of these values, we’re committed to supporting Irish jobs and sourcing from local suppliers, helping local charities, building a more sustainable future and investing in our future food leaders.
Supporting jobs in Ireland
We care about growing a strong local economy and we’re committed to supporting Irish jobs and sourcing from local suppliers. That’s why we directly employ over 1200 people locally and support over 680 Irish companies, spending over €430m with them annually, through our Irish supplier network.
We are also dedicated to giving small local producers the help and support they need to grow their businesses through our FoodService Academy.
Charity + Community
Helping local charities and supporting our communities whenever we can, is very important to us. Together with our colleagues, partners and the generosity of the Irish people, we’ve helped raise over €200,000 for local charities over the past 4 years.
And through our partnership with FoodCloud, we have helped provide quality, fresh food to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities by donating over 500,000 meals, with a value of over €700,000, to local charities.
We are committed to doing everything we can to build a more sustainable future. That’s why we’re:
Increasing the number of small, local suppliers we source our products from by 25% by 2020.
Investing in new eco-friendly refrigeration systems.
Reducing our carbon footprint by maximising our route efficiencies.
Printing on FSC certified paper.
And moving towards all our Irish meat and fresh produce being Origin Green certified by 2020.
Supporting Ireland’s Food Leaders
We believe in supporting the Irish food industry and we prioritise investing in Ireland’s Future Food Leaders. We have donated €350,000, through our long-term partnership with TU Dublin. Our donation is supporting TU Dublin to create a European Centre of Culinary Excellence through; their new state-of-the-art student training restaurant, due to open Autumn 2020, 8 annual student bursaries and 4 PhD students.
Our partnership with Chef Network supports food leadership through a series of Chef Skills Masterclasses on key trends, delivered by some of our country’s leading chefs.
We support farming excellence by ensuring that all our fresh beef and lamb is 100% Irish and Bord Bia approved.
